Campus Placements are crucial for a good career path

We all are aware that in the last semesters for nearly every college and university in the country, campus placements become front and center for students looking to pursue a good career path. Campus placements for many students are the premier way to get into a well paying job that they can use to grow and develop. The gateway to a better life in the long run depends on these campus placements.

So it becomes a matter of much importance for someone to want to clear those placements. Except what happens is that many students do not have a clear goal or a path that they can take to clear those placements and make an impression on the person sitting in front of them wanting to hire them.

A student that has that something special in them to impress upon the hiring managers that they need to select that student is the premier way that someone can get selected and go on to join a good organization.

Placements in colleges are, in many ways, the only chance that most students have to get into a company, but the problem here that they face is that the placements are often not very special or the organizations that have come for the placements are not offering the best in the opportunities.

A Few Points to keep in mind :

  • Every engineering aspirant hopes to get a satisfied and high paying job while joining engineering.
  • The reality is that jobs are there. But candidates are not skilled enough.
  • Since they are not skilled enough, this gives way for mass recruiters for hire candidates based on the quantity rather than quality.
  • Some who decide not to take up these jobs, are often struggling to find the right jobs. Not focused on re-skilling themselves. Still have faith that their education will get them the job.
  • In reality, outdated coursework and lack of practical knowledge creates hindrance.

In a country like India, engineering is one of the most popular words known by the entire population. It does not matter which state, which region, what language you speak, one word that you hear the most throughout your life would be engineering.

It has become a de-facto career path for many who have not even progressed into middle school and why not so? We often grow up seeing many of our relatives or acquaintances who have pursued engineering in their career and have made it big.

Engineering is a dream painter for the aspiring youth in the country. It is often this illusion that has led to many students to pursue this career path. But are the engineers in India happy about their career path? Are they able to pursue the dream they envisioned while joining their engineering colleges?

A lot of engineers who do not take up jobs which do not fall into their area of interest or the job profile is primarily managing and testing, are often rendered jobless for many months in search of lucrative development job.

An article published by the Hindu highlighted that 95% of the engineering graduates in India are not skilled enough to be employed. As a career path, it is one of the most flourishing and reputed fields which enables you to create life changing innovations but are we pushing in the right direction? Are the means used still the correct approach towards moving forward?

The market has moved up in a very fast pace and the academic institutions have not been able to cope up with the same. In terms of producing engineers, its a simple equation of demand and supply. Engineering is a very lucrative career path as anything that is technologically made is handled by engineers or made by them.

What is needed is a platform that takes these statistics at face value and devises a program to re-skill the candidates so that they go on to shine at their campus placements and become the go to hires for the organizations that are coming to the campuses for getting the best candidates.

Edwisor Academy is one such platform where any prospective candidate is trained and equipped so that they can clear their campus placements with flying colors. With a structured training program in a variety of fields — — technical and non-technical — — and a varied list of topics, the aim here is to give an all round training to the student in what they are interested in so that they have the opportunity to get into the field of their own choice and to train them effectively in those topics.
